Let’s talk about doing nothing.
Here’s a little perception shift for today.
I sat down the other day to ‘do nothing’ and it dawned on me the stigma we place on ‘doing nothing.’
Here’s the thing, when you ‘do nothing,’ you are actually doing something.
Maybe you are relaxing, recharging, or resetting. Maybe you are gathering up the energy to deal with a problem, or maybe you are giving your body and mind a much-needed break.
But you are absolutely doing something.
We are conditioned to believe that idleness is the equivalent of laziness. In fact, the definition includes, ‘avoiding work, or being lazy.’
But that is a judgment. Idle itself means to do nothing. It is neither positive nor negative.
Next time you want to ‘do nothing,’ but feel guilty about it, or feel like you need to hide that you are ‘do nothing,’ I want you to ask yourself this, ‘what are you really doing?’
Chances are, it isn’t going to be ‘nothing.’
Reclaim your ability to relax, to rest, to reset. Give yourself permission.
Then clear out all those Intrinsic Energies™ that go along with the misaligned belief that doing nothing is wrong.
Here are three Intrinsic Energies™ I see:
guilt
shame
embarrassment
Use an energetic magnet to release them, or if you don’t have Intrinsic Energy™ tools, use your breath and blow them out.
Tell me how shifting the perception of ‘doing nothing,’ changes things for you!
